Welcome to a new page about breast cancer

Nordic Breastcancer will in future inform breast cancer patients and their relatives about, among other things, diagnostics, treatment options and life with breast cancer.

Initially, the site is aimed at Danish and Faroe patients. But the goal is to unfold it in the course of 2023, so that all Nordic breast cancer patients get their own media in the local language. That is why we have chosen an international name.

We focus on supporting the good cooperation the Nordic patient associations already have. And we do this by both writing about breast cancer treatment in the individual countries but also about everything that Nordic patient associations can learn from each other.

The site was created in collaboration between the Breast Cancer Association and PatientAkademiet, which is a site from Medical Journals. In addition to news about treatments and the work to support breast cancer patients, we will produce webinars and podcasts, e.g. with news from the major cancer conferences. We will also regularly send out newsletters.

In Denmark, the editorial staff of Medicinske Tidsskrifter is responsible for the production of articles. This is done in close cooperation with DBO's board, who will also contribute with input and e.g. columns.

As the Nordic pages are rolled out, local freelance journalists will be assigned in collaboration with the local associations to write articles about the national conditions/organisations for the newsletter and at the same time raise awareness of the situation for breast cancer sufferers in the country in question in all areas. This can generate more articles nationally in other media.
